New Products Coming SOON!

This week has been busy filling orders (we had 6 this week!!), getting our banadanas down and ready to put on the site, getting leashes up on the Etsy page, trying out a new toy, and organizing our space.

Orders and Organzing

First, we are SO excited at all the orders we have received so far. We have been open for a week and have already had 7 orders! We are so thankful for everyone that has helped so far, whether that’s following our website, sharing and liking our posts, purchasing treats, and being testers for our treats. We do all the baking and making of everything out of my home, so we figured we had better get organized so my dining room isn’t such a mess anymore. Our dining room has now turned into the headquarters of Maple’s Toys and Treats, and I could not be more excited about it. To be able to work out of my home doing something I love has always been a dream of mine. Brittany lives just a short 5 minute drive away, so it’s convenient for her, too!

We FINALLY got our business cards in, so these will now be going out with every order! We are happy with how they turned out and are excited to get these handed out to people!

Bandanas

I know we have been talking about these since we have opened up our website, but they will hopefully be available starting this week! We will have sizes from XXS – XXL, so there is something for every pup. We will be posting these by print, then you will get to choose your size, which will also be listed in inches for easy ordering. Sizing will be as follows:

XXS – 5″ ; XS – 7″; S – 9″, M – 11″; L – 13″, XL – 15″; XXL – 17″.

We have a lot of great prints and patterns already, but we will be adding more as we continue.

Leashes

We have had the leashes up on our site for a few days now, and currently they only color available is white. We have been talking about adding more colors, but want your guys’ input on what you would like to see. Head over to our Facebook page to vote!

Toys

Does anyone else’s dog have those annoying pig toys from Wal-Mart that make an obnoxious noise whenever they play with these? Well, we have three. My mom gets them for Harley and Napa for Christmas, and a swear these things are indestructible. These pigs also hold the favorite toy spot for Napa. So it makes me happy to say that so far she has chosen the toy I made over the pig all night!

It’s made from fleece (hello, washable!), and will be available in multiple colors. To make this one, I just used some extra fleece I had lying around from some other projects I did. The picture isn’t the best, but you can at least get the idea of what it will look like.

This toy is perfect for tug, but Napa also loves to play fetch, so it works with that as well. Have I mentioned washable? This is a big plus for us since Napa loves to take her toys outside! I have a lot of extra fleece laying around, so I am excited to make more, get them on Etsy, and try out more styles of toys.

Thank you to everyone that has made this what it is so far, we are so excited to see what else happens with this business!

Nailing Down Some Recipes

I spent my morning before working testing out different recipes for treats and icing and I think I’ve found a couple that work!

These are some dog donuts that look so good I want to eat then myself! It’s a simple recipe with peanut butter and some honey and my dogs just love them!

I then tried to make of a macaroon inspired treat with a different recipe and I think I was pretty successful!

I just love the looks of these and they also went over really well with my dogs! I love knowing that I’m giving them something homemade and made with them in mind!

Can’t wait to get the online store set up to share this with you guys!

Napa’s First Birthday!

Happy FIRST Birthday to our Napa! Wow, I can’t believe she is a year old already. It seems like just yesterday I was trying to convince my husband into letting me get another dog (I had been trying for about 2 years to no avail), he finally caved in once we put an offer on our house. That’s one thing about me, when I want something, I don’t give up!

I have always grown up with Heelers, so getting one of my own was just a matter of time. Farm life with them was always so fun, never a running buddy or play pal short. The thing I love about heelers is their energy: always full of it, restlessly protective of their family, and curious little beings.

There is no doubt in my mind that Napa was meant to be the dog for us. She contains all the above characteristics, is so smart, full of love and life, and has given us so much love and joy in the first year of her life. We have had our hard times with potty training, leash training, and building up the courage to play with other pups, but oh how rewarding it is to see all these things come together.

As I look back on this past year with our youngest babe, I can’t help but feel a little sad that she’s getting older, joy that she’s learning and growing with us, and excitement for what the coming years will bring.

Harley also got to enjoy some homemade treats and join in on the birthday festivities. On another note we have given some of our treats to some family and friend dog members and are happy to report that all the dogs have LOVED them! We can’t wait to make them available to you guys!

Happy Birthday Napa, we love you!

First Steps in the Right Direction

This last week has been busy for Brittany and me, trying to find and come up with different recipes that will stick to our mission while also tasting good for our pups. Tonight was busy trying to make these recipes come to life. We are happy to report that a few of them worked, and while some didn’t, we are happy that we tried them. There were some other that made the cut, but we will be doing some tweaking to recipes to make them the best they can, not only for us, but for you guys too! We will be busy this week getting everything set, as well as getting our products page updated, our Etsy shop going, and our Facebook and Instagram live. In the meantime, here is a sneak peak and what we’ve been working on.

We have decided that we are going to be naming our treats after our own pets, as well as family members. As we add more treats, we will be asking customers for help naming treats using their social medias.

Harley

We decided to name this treat “Harley” after my dog, who has stinky breath! This is a simple treat, only containing 3 ingredients, at the most. We will be offering this treat three different ways: 1- Coconut oil and mint leaf, 2- Coconut oil, mint leaf, and pumpkin seed oil, 3- Coconut oil, mint leaf, and hemp oil.

Pumpkin seed oil and hemp oil have tremendous heath benefits for dogs, which we will get more into on the ‘products’ page.

Harley and Napa LOVED these treats and kept wanting more. While they didn’t make Harley’s breath minty fresh, it did help!

Sebastian

This one is named after Brittany’s dog, Sebastian. We decided to name this one after him because he LOVES peanut butter, and this is the main ingredient!

This is more of your ‘typical’ dog cookie, but is only made with 4 ingredients! This is a recipe that we are wanting to tweak to make better for everyone. Though our ‘tester’ dogs loved it, we feel the recipe can be better! (Did we mention doggy donuts?!)

There were a few others tried (photos below), along with some heavy-duty affordable leashes and our photo-op area for when we start to get the clothes and bandannas going. Stay tuned as we will be meeting again on Wednesday to get some more things in the works, as well as our shop up and going!

Make sure you subscribe to get the latest info first hand!
